Updated for Version 3.3
Faruzan is the long awaited 4★ Anemo damage support. With her buff duration lasting far longer than majority of our current existing options, she has easily made it as Xiao's Best-in-Slot support. Because of this we have made a guide on how to utilize her with our favorite Vigilant Yaksha Xiao.
Faruzan is indisputably Xiao's best support regardless of Constellation as her base kit single-handedly provides a buff far more meaningful than multiple buffs combined.
Even at C0, Faruzan's Burst lasts up to 16s, which provides 30% Anemo RES Shred and 30% Anemo DMG Bonus. In comparison, majority of other buffs tend to last 12s or less.
Starting from C2, her Burst will last all of Xiao's Elemental Burst regardless of where she's positioned in rotations. Solely because of the duration, she will provide a stronger buff than Bennett, Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers and Noblesse Oblige buffs combined.
At C6, Faruzan's Buffs become stronger thanks to the additional CRIT DMG. But her performance is further enhanced as she becomes a battery and off-field DPS (should you build for it). This makes C6 Faruzan the highest value unit for Xiao.
Pre-C6 Faruzan has no strong Talent priority because majority of her buffs are built into her kit. We only suggest leveling her Burst to 6 to get most of her Anemo DMG Buffs.
At C6, it becomes worthwhile to level her Elemental Skill as her Burst procs it and will deal damage alongside Xiao.
Her Normal Attack Talent is generally not worth investing into.
Normal Attack
Performs up to 4 consecutive shots with a bow.
Charged Attack
Performs a more precise Aimed Shots with increased DMG.
While aiming, mighty winds will accumulate on the arrowhead. A fully charged wind arrow will deal Anemo DMG.
Faruzan deals AoE Anemo Damage and enters a Manifest Gale state.
Manifest Gale
In this state, Faruzan's Charged Shots can create a Pressurized Collapse Vortex.
Pressurized Collapse Vortex
Creates a vortex, pulling nearby enemies and dealing AoE Anemo damage.
Faruzan deploys a Dazzling Polyhedron, dealing AoE Anemo Damage on cast. It continuously moves around in a triangular pattern, unleashing a Whirlwind Pulse with every stop.
Whirlwind Pulse
Provides the following effects every 2s:
• Decreases 30% Anemo RES of enemies hit by the Whirlwind Pulse.
• Increases the Anemo DMG Bonus of all party members.
These pulses do no damage.
Faruzan's C2 is a good stopping point if you are low on pulls, as it increases her buff duration and permits it to last all of Xiao's Elemental Burst even when she is rotated first.
Faruzan's C6 permits her to be a battery and an off-field DPS, on top of her significant buffing capabilities; this is her best and strongest Constellation.
Faruzan can fire off a maximum of 2 Hurricane Arrows using fully charged Aimed Shots while under the effect of a single Manifest Gale created by Wind Realm of Nasamjnin.
Her C1 gives her another charge of her special CA after using her Skill. Unfortunately, it does not generate extra particles so this Constellation is unnoteworthy.
The duration of the Dazzling Polyhedron created by The Wind's Secret Ways is increased by 6s.
Increases her Burst duration by 6s for a total of 18s. This is one of Faruzan’s best Constellation. The longer Burst duration increases her flexibility in terms of rotations as she can now be slotted before other supports like Bennett while still providing her buffs and debuffs for Xiao’s entire rotation.
Increases the Level of Wind Realm of Nasamjnin by 3.
Maximum upgrade level is 15.
Increases her Elemental Skill Talent by 3 levels. This is also a negligible increase.
The vortex created by Pressurized Collapses will restore Energy to Faruzan based on the number of opponents hit: If it hits 1 opponent, it will restore 2 Energy for Faruzan. Each additional opponent hit will restore 0.5 more Energy for Faruzan.
A maximum of 4 Energy can be restored to her per vortex.
Each vortex hit restores 2-4 Energy for Faruzan based on how many enemies were hit. Without C6, this constellation has a negligible effect on Faruzan’s ER requirements. With C6, it helps reduce her ER needs.
Increases the Level of The Wind's Secret Ways by 3.
Maximum upgrade level is 15.
Increases her Elemental Burst Talent by 3 levels. This is also a negligible increase.
Characters affected by The Wind’s Secret Ways‘ Prayerful Wind’s Benefit have 40% increased CRIT DMG when they deal Anemo DMG. When the active character deals DMG while affected by Prayerful Wind’s Benefit, they will apply Pressurized Collapse to the opponent damaged. This effect can be triggered once every 3s. This CD is shared between all party members.
Faruzan’s Whirlwind Pulse grants all nearby party members an additional 40% Anemo CRIT DMG. Furthermore, her Burst will spawn a vortex every 3s when the active character deals damage. Notably, these vortexes will generate 2 Anemo Particles every 6s.
This is Faruzan’s most game-changing Constellation. First, it grants a notable DPS increase via the extra 40% Anemo CRIT DMG granted to all party members. Her own DPS damage also increases due to the additional vortex procs and lower ER requirements, allowing her to build more damage-focused stats.
Second, it improves the consistency of her Anemo RES Shred. Now, both the Whirlwind Pulses from her Burst and the vortexes from her C6 will Shred enemy Resistance. Thus, even if the Whirlwind Pulse misses the enemy, the vortexes are generated at the location of the closest enemy hit, providing more coverage for the RES Shred.
Finally, but perhaps most importantly, it also improves the entire team’s Energy economy. Her C6 vortexes will funnel a total of 6 Anemo Particles directly to Xiao during his Burst. All other off-field Anemo party members will also benefit in recharging their own Bursts. Faruzan can also take full advantage of her C4’s Energy restoration from each vortex to further decrease her own ER requirements.
Pre-C6 we recommend ignoring main stats and aiming for whatever that can get you 250~300ER.
C6 permits the use of ATK% Sands, assuming 200ER can be met through subs.
ER% > CRIT Rate > CRIT DMG > ATK%
CRIT Rate is valued over CRIT DMG and ATK% due to Favonius Bow. Proccing its passive is an integral part of managing Faruzan's Energy.
Pre-C6 you can ignore every other stat except ER%.
Pre-C6 we do not recommend going after any specific set. Instead, prioritize the necessary ER for your team.
Energy generation is your primary stat goal for Faruzan.
Any combination of these 2pc sets will work for a more damage oriented build for Faruzan.
Only viable for C6 Faruzan, as her vortices can now be procced off-field.
Because of Faruzan's high Energy demands, her weapon choices aren't very varied.
At C6, other DPS oriented bows are viable but her ER% needs has to be met through artifacts.
We recommend using this weapon due to its passive that aids in lowering ER requirement for herself and the rest of the team.
This weapon becomes viable at C6, as Faruzan becomes capable of utilizing its passive through her C6 vortexes. Due to cooldown desync, the buff is only active every other rotation, lowering the value of the weapon.
Before Faruzan is C6, the only way she can generate particles for her team is using her Skill and then using her special CA to create a vortex and generate two particles. Due to the delay before the vortex spawns, Xiao is able to pre-funnel her generated particles (along with the particles from two of his own Skills) into his Burst.
There is no need to pre-funnel at C6 due to Burst-generated vortices sharing a particle generation ICD with CA-generated vortices. Just Burst and go.
Due to delay on Faruzan’s vortex generating particles after her special CA, it is possible to piggyback funnel multiple Skills’ particles into Xiao. For example, Faruzan E CA > Jean E > Xiao will allow Xiao to catch both Faruzan’s and Jean’s Skill particles.
Generally, pre-C2 Faruzan should use her Burst right before Xiao.
Post-C2, Faruzan’s Burst duration is long enough to use it before your other supports (e.g., Bennett) and still provide Xiao full uptime. However, you should still swap back to Faruzan to pre-funnel her CA for Xiao if she is not C6.
Exact rotations are still a work in progress. You can contribute your findings in Xiao Mains’ Faruzan Rotation Submissions channel at discord.gg/xiao!
You can use How Much ER Does My Xiao Need? to calculate how much ER your Xiao needs.
In triple Anemo comps, Xiao generally needs around 140 ER. This can be alleviated with extra Favonius weapons, C1 Xiao, extra Skill uses from your Anemo supports at the cost of increased downtime between rotations, or relying on enemy particles in AOE scenarios.
Every person’s play style is different, but we recommend you optimize for enough ER for comfortable rotations to ensure consistent results in Abyss.
With C6 Faruzan as a solo battery, Xiao’s ER requirements will be significantly lowered, allowing him to run traditional double-Anemo Xiao comps (i.e., Xiao/Faruzan/Flex/Flex). His ER needs will generally lie in the range between 120 - 130 ER depending on the team’s overall energy generation.
